Founded in 1988, the purpose of our association is to provide an ongoing affiliation of people who have built, maintained, staffed, stationed on, and supported the memory and history of the Forrestal Class aircraft carrier, USS Ranger. We are dedicated to the perpetuation of the legacy of the ship and everyone associated with it. The USS Ranger Reunion Association is a non-profit organization.
The CV(A) 61 was the first Forrestal Class carrier built from the keel up in an "angle deck" configuration. She served from 1954 to her decommissioning in 1993, and laid to rest in 2015 in the International Shipbreaking facility in Brownsville, Texas.
Please check out the memorial page dedicated to those fallen and or missing in action. Freedom is not free.
This year, we will be in Washington D.C., August 20th to the 24th.
